Let's chat... Chris T. Kat @Christi_Kat @PridePromo #bookcontest

Sooooo...I went on search for another fine specimen to share with you and lookie what I found! A wonderfully talented Chris T. Kat from across the waters with a new book out...Sacrifices (and doesn't that title just draw you in!?!?)

Well okay, we found each other because she's doing this mega superdy duper blog tour and I might have begged and pleaded for a spot in it...but like I plan on telling you all that...um...well...

Let's get this chat started *blushes*...

And up first...the 4-1-1 on our terrific author...

About Chris:  Chris T. Kat lives in the middle of Europe, where she shares a house with her husband of many years and their two children. She stumbled upon the M/M genre by luck and was swiftly drawn into it. She divides her time between work, her family—which includes chasing after escaping horses and lugging around huge instruments such as a harp—and writing. She enjoys a variety of genres, such as mystery/suspense, paranormal, and romance. If there’s any spare time, she happily reads for hours, listens to audiobooks, or does cross stitch.

Who else is picturing people chasing horses now? I gotta say my money might be on the horse—and you know the horse is laughing at us, right? Talk about good times, lmao...love the thought. Well, Chris has been gracious enough to humor me with a few questions...you ready to drill the author? *waggles brow*

Soooooooooooooo...

In fifty words or less, sum up Sacrifices.
You couldn't come up with something more difficult? ;-)
Okay, let's try:
After sacrificing his dream job so he can be with Alex (and Alex's little brother, Sean) Jeff's only leftover obstacle is to convince Alex he's in for the long haul, no matter what life throws at them.
Do you have a specific writing style?
Hmm, I'm not sure. I definitely prefer a certain POV—first person narrative. I know it's not for everyone (my daughter, for example, absolutely hates it) but I like reading books written from one person's perspective. It's also the easiest to write for me. If I don't use that POV, I usually use third person limited.
As for my style... my characters often have a snarky streak, but they also show a lot of humor and affection.

What is the funniest typo you’ve ever done?
I honestly can't remember one at the moment, although I know there've been more than one. I'm not a native speaker, but whenever I get tired while I write, I tend to confuse similar sounding words. Broach and brooch indeed mean something completely different, who knew? XD
There have been some weird moments when I edited my manuscripts because I couldn't make sense of my own sentences anymore, just because I confused those homonyms.

What bores you in a book?
As much as I know tropes are useful instruments, (and I use them too to an extent), I'm not a big fan of those if that's the only thing going on in a book. Sometimes I pick up a book and it feels as if I've already read it a million times. What I really can't stand is if the story centers a lot around food, or the way meals are cooked. Nothing kicks me faster out of a story than that!

Is there a message in this book you want your readers to understand?
Sometimes your life plans change, but not all changes are bad; sometimes a change can open new doors and make you feel more at peace. Also, just because you've come to terms with something, (new job, new relationship), doesn't mean your partner can't freak out and do something stupid. Still, if the communication works, (or works anew), problems can be resolved.

Good news, Chris...I'm not much of a cook so we should get along just fine...hehe.
You know what...Chris gave me a peek at her goodies! Oh yes she did...and I gotta tell you, you're gonna wanna sneak a looksie yourself...so here you go—Chris T. Kat's goodies...

Sacrifices, A Jeff Woods Mystery: sequel to Attachment Strings
Blurb:  When he was outed on the local news, Jeff Woods gave up his dream job as a detective to become an on-air radio personality. The sacrifice was worth it to keep Alex and Sean in his life, but Alex lost his job, too. Jeff can tell Alex worries he’s pressuring Jeff too much, first with Sean and now the lack of money, but he has no idea what that will lead Alex to do. Desperate times bring out the stupidity in some people, and when Jeff discovers Alex is in over his head in a situation he can’t handle, he needs all his self-control to stay calm.

Life is not easy with the Church of Virtue still spouting venom wherever they go, homophobes at the police department, a gangster who wants Alex in the worst possible way, and a bed that barely holds one grown man, much less two (and a child), but Jeff is there to stay for good, and he’ll do what it takes to make Alex believe him.
